Iodine Supplementation-get the facts before you consider taking Iodine

Your health is adversely affected by many things… and especially so by the imbalance between the halogens bromine, chlorine, fluorine and Iodine in our bodies.

  • Bromine is added to bakery good, soft-drinks, medications and is present in numerous pesticides. It, also, out-gases from plastics.
  • Chlorine and fluorine are added to water and toothpaste.
Upon entering our bodies, these harmful halogens block the uptake of iodine and prevent absolutely essential membrane transport and hormone actions performed by Iodine in our cells.

Because Iodine is virtually absent from North American soils, up to 96 percent of Americans are moderately to severely deficient in Iodine. The bottom line of this deficiency and imbalance is low energy, weight gain, mental slowness, depressed immune function and more rapid aging.

The most important way to avoid the bad consequences of Iodine insufficiency and blocked action in our cells by other halogens is to to take 1 to 3 drops of Magnascent Iodine several times a day.

  • Magnascent Iodine is a patented product (one of a kind product) – Iodine atoms held apart by magnetic forces in liquid suspension.
  • Magnascent Iodine is the exact form of iodine (single atoms that are not part of any compound) utilized in the thyroid and membranes and receptors of the body.
  • Magnascent Iodine remains active for three hours in the body after being consumed during which time it will work to replace bromine, fluorine and chlorine and perform its vital functions.
Unfortunately, some people have become afraid of iodine supplementation because of iodine allergies that have been reported in regard to iodine dyes or shellfish toxins.

These fears need to be replaced by understanding. Iodine dyes and shellfish toxins are unrelated to elemental iodine.

Everyone ought to understand that there is no true allergy to elemental iodine. Iodine is essential to life. You can’t live without it. If you have less of it, than your body needs, your quality of health is affected adversely. If you have no Iodine, you are dead. As with anything (including water), there are limits to reasonable consumption of Iodine. And, just as a person who has become severely dehydrated shouldn’t drink a large amount of water all at once, a person who is deficient in Iodine should also start with a small amount of Iodine and build up the dosage slowly (so that detoxing occurs slowly).

What you can expect from Magnscent Iodine supplementation:

  • Rate of detoxification of the body will increase, including removal of bromine, fluorine and chlorine.
  • Nutrient utilization (especially mineral absorption) will improve.
  • Hormone response will improve.
  • Energy levels will increase.
  • Brain activity will increase (don’t take it late at night or your brain will be solving world problems all night).
Magnascent Iodine is a significant product. It is in the category of musts… like Vitamin D3, Probiotics, Minerals, Zeolite and PEOs.

Cherries as #1 fruit for weight loss

You’ve probably heard the tip that if you’re interested in losing weight, it’s a good idea to eat slowly and chew your food at least 15-20 times before swallowing. Doing so allows your brain and body to actually sense that it’s full, instead of cramming a bunch of food down your throat only to find out 30 minutess later that you’re WAY stuffed.

And for that reason , I’m picking cherries as my #1 fruit for weight loss.

With cherries, you can’t just pop 30 in your mouth in two minutess like you could, and probably often do, with grapes or blueberries. Instead, the pits force you to eat them slowly, allowing your satiation sensors to chime in a prevent you from over-indulging.

So that’s reason #1 – built in portion control.

Reason #2, and it’s a BIG one, is that cherries have the LOWEST glycemic index of all fruits, and one of the lowest glycemic indexes of any carbohydrate source—period.

Scoring at a ridiciulously low 22, you can even snack on cherries in the evening without much detriment as their effect on insulin is minimal at best. Again, it’s not late-night eating that’s the problem, it’s eating the wrong foods (those that cause a substantial rise in fat-loss halting insulin) in evening hours that is.

So next time you’re in the mood for a sweet, satiating snack, reach for a small bowl of cherries and enjoy the goodness.

Low-risk, drug-free alternatives, such as chiropractic care, for pain relief and improved health of expectant mothers and their developing babies.

F4CP points to chiropractic as first option for pain relief during pregnancy

April 8, 2014 — Responding to a recent study published in the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Pediatrics, which found that the use of acetaminophen for pain relief during pregnancy may be associated with a higher risk for hyperkinetic disorders (HKDs) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder-like behaviors in children, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), points to low-risk, drug-free alternatives, such as chiropractic care, for pain relief and improved health of expectant mothers and their developing babies.

“Because risks associated with medications are magnified during pregnancy, experts are advising expectant mothers to look for non-pharmacological ways to deal with pain,” says Gerard Clum, DC, spokesperson, F4CP, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the value of chiropractic care. “Doctors of chiropractic receive a minimum of seven years of education to clinically evaluate patients and provide gentle, hands-on manual and instrument care, as well as nutrition, ergonomics and exercise advice — all fundamental contributors to a healthy pregnancy and lifestyle.”

According to the report, children whose mothers used acetaminophen were:

13 percent more likely to show ADHD-like behaviors………37 percent more likely to be diagnosed with HKDs…….29 percent more likely to be prescribed ADHD medications

In a subsequent article in USA Today, experts also advised against substituting the use of acetaminophen with ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), as they may disrupt fetal development and cause further problems.

“Added stress to the body, weight gain and postural changes often cause relentless discomfort for expectant mothers,” says Clum. “Conservative options, such as chiropractic, can improve structural balance and help with conditions such as headaches, neck and back pain — all too common during pregnancy.”

The F4CP calls upon providers and patients to consider drug-free treatment approaches.

“As evidence continues to expose the dangers connected to the use of acetaminophen and other NSAIDS, especially during pregnancy, it becomes evident that pharmaceuticals should not be a primary option,” concludes Clum.  “Natural approaches — such as chiropractic care — should be the first choice for achieving better health throughout all stages of life, including pregnancy.”

Relief from some of most chronic pains could be helped by a few chiropractic sessions.

Chiropractic treatment for health problems is not always considered when it comes to healing, but you may be surprised to find that relief from some of most chronic pains could be helped by a few chiropractic sessions.

As an alternative form of medical treatment, chiropractic care is generally geared towards helping patients with back, neck and joint pain. Dr. Hamza Saif, an Ottawa-based chiropractor at the Hunt Chiropractic Clinic, says the treatment can also improve symptoms and effects of common illnesses to improve overall quality of life.

“While we don’t claim to cure organic diseases, we can improve the quality of life of patients dealing with them,” said Saif.

Saif gives the example of asthma, which often causes mid-back pain due to constant coughing. Chiropractors can’t cure asthma, but they can relieve the back and muscle pain caused by it, he says.

According to the Canadian Chiropractic Association, the treatment is gradually gaining popularity. The association reports that 53 per cent of Canadians had visited a chiropractor for treatment at some point in their lives in 2009, compared to 49 per cent in 2005.

Even as it gains popularity, there is pushback to the alternative treatment by medical doctors and patients alike, who say there is little medical evidence for chiropractic solutions. One of the major risks often associated with chiropractic care is the potential for increasing the risk of strokes. However, a study published by the European Spine Journal in 2008, found that there were no links between the two.

Saif says much of the controversy surrounding chiropractic treatment is often due to a lack of education, especially in older doctors who weren’t formally taught it in medical school (chiropractors get their degrees at separate chiropractic colleges).

“The best place to start is a consultation with a licensed chiropractor. Skeptical people are usually the ones who haven’t seen a chiropractor.”

As Dr. Saif mentioned, chiropractic treatments won’t cure anything, but they might able to work in conjunction with other medical care to help. Check out these ailments that have been found to benefit from a chiropractor:

Migraines
  • According to migraines.com, a number of studies have proved that chiropractic treatment can lower the frequency and pain intensity of migraines.

  • Arthritis Pain Relief

Saif says most people over 50-years-old have some signs of joint degeneration, which causes pain and stiffness. Chiropractic adjustments can help joints feel less sore so they move more freely.

  • Cerebral Palsy

Individuals with cerebral palsy often have “dysfunctional muscles”, which cause other muscles to work extra and strain. Chiropractic treatment can help reduce stress on these muscles, says Dr. Hamza Saif, an Ottawa-based chiropractor.

  • Parkinson’s Disease

While it’s unknown exactly what causes this disease, studies have linked it to accidents causing head traumas and spinal misalignment, according to Yourspine.com. Chiropractic treatments can correct these misalignments and remove pressure on surrounding nerves.

  • High Blood Pressure

According to Saif, studies have shown that just one chiropractic session can keep blood pressure lowered for several weeks. He recommends seeing a NUCCA specialist, a specific type of chiropractor that deals with upper neck adjustments.

  • Cancer Pain Relief

The effects of cancer treatments like chemotherapy can often leave patients feeling extreme fatigue and soreness to the point they are bedridden. With chiropractic adjustments, some of this pain can be relieved so they have a better quality of life. says Saif.

  • Strengthen Immune System

While there is little research to prove this, Saif says studies are being done to prove what many patients already feel. Regular chiropractic patients often report better overall immune systems and wellness levels.

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Individuals with carpal tunnel syndrome often feel itching, burning or soreness in parts of their body, after doing constant, repetitive movements. Chiropractors can help by providing posture-related advice, suggesting stretches and doing adjustments, says Saif.

  • Reduce Anxiety And Depression

Although chiropractic care doesn’t claim to treat the physiological effects of these mental illnesses, Saif says it can help with physical effects such as lethargy, which often causes soreness and pain, worsening physiological problems.
