Health Alert: Obesity is Still a Problem in US

ImageBetween 2003 and 2012, obesity rates among adults in the United States (US) leveled off with about one-third of American adults now classified as obese. In adults, obesity is defined as a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 30. Individuals who are obese have a higher risk for type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, coronary artery disease, stroke, and sleep apnea, among other conditions.
